The Rose Of Jericho: A Prosperity Talisman

NOTE: You can find a ready-to-print version FOR FREE, with a beautiful layout and pictures, at our Bookstore at Lulu.com!!!

The Rose of Jericho: Introduction and Magickal Characteristics

The Rose of Jericho, or Resurrection Plant, is endemic to most north African and Arabic deserts. Since the Canary Islands are only a few kilometres away from the Northwest coast, it is very known and used here. This plant dries completely and curls up in dry times, and “lives” again when in contact with water, hence the name of Resurrection Plant.

In Spain, it is traditionally related to the Holy Trinity, being this one a catholic country; but let’s not forget its origins! This plant contains a very powerful desert spirit. Beside its known properties as prosperity and success bringer, when treated with respect and love gives great protection to its owner, doing the work of absorbing negative energies.

You only have to put the dry plant on a bowl and add a couple of inches of water. According to chromotherapy, you can use the colour of the bowl to get a more specific result.

The water of the Rose of Jericho should be changed every Sunday – when I do, I even pass the plant under the tap for a few seconds to clean off any negative residues. Many times I’ve read you can use the water of the plant to clean floors as an energy cleaner, but I disagree. The negativity that the plant absorbs is deposited in the water. I wouldn’t clean my house with a water that has been absorbing harming energies for a week.

In African traditions, prosperity and protection talismans are place as near of the entry of the house as possible. I have mine at the hall, and believe me when I say that everyone who enters my house notices it and ask about it! The energy of the Jericho Rose really make people enter.

In the crystal bowl where I keep the plant I add coins, all of the same amount and type, in odd numbers. In the images you see there are five new 1 cent Euro coins. Copper is extremely good conducting and balancing energies. After a full moon cycle I use the coins as talismans, giving them away to friends and Tarot consultants. You can also consecrate crystals, gems, shells, nails or any other talisman that can keep being submerged in water for 28 days at least. You may never sell this talismans! They are a gift of the desert spirit in the plant and have costed you nothing. Not only this breaks a few Magick laws, it is completely unproductive! Give prosperity around you freely and that is the most powerful spell to find your own prosperity.

How To Connect With The Rose Of Jericho Spirit

If you have just bought your Jericho Rose, you have to give its spirit a proper welcome at your home, so the Guardian of the rose feels at home and knows you are a honourable witch. This plant’s spirit loves candles and incense, and some will even ask for fruit, sweets or other offerings. Usually they are very talkative and develop a very strong relationship with the owner.

Place the plant at the bowl, and add the cents or any other thing you want to consecrate. Do not add the water yet. Take three white candles and make a triangle around the bowl, light them. Light some of your favourite incense, play some soft music if you want to. Relax for a few minutes, just letting all “everyday thinking” go; once you feel empty and relaxed, put your hands above the jar of water, palms down, focus as much as you can and bless the water. If you have never blessed water before, you can say something like this:
“For the Good of All, I bless this water. Now it becomes a vehicle of Protection and Love, by the Divine Power of the God and the Goddess.”

Now you can start pouring the water slowly. Feel how its spirit starts to flow “into” the plant. Once you have added enough water, close your eyes and concentrate for a few seconds. Then introduce yourself to the spirit, in your own words. You could say something like:
“Welcome to my Home, Sacred Spirit of the Jericho Rose. My name is …… (add your name) and I am a Witch. I commit to honour and protect this Rose; please protect me (and my family) and bring prosperity into this house. Help me and guide me (and my family), to give to others as much as we receive from you.”

It is very likely that you will hear the spirit’s name then. Keep that name to yourself – it is a private thing. If you don’t hear the spirit’s name, wait seven days and then light three more candles and repeat the prayer. Sometimes spirits need a little more time to connect with us! Consistency is an essential condition for the Witch; repeating a ritual makes it more powerful every time we start it over again, and makes the Witch more focused and stronger.

The ritual is finished whenever you decide it is. You can stay as long as you want. Leave the candles die by themselves and take good care of your Rose – when prosperity and recognition arrive at you, most of the times in a matter of days, you will be happy you did this ritual. Keep your Rose of Jericho happy and it will pay back at you!

Hello, I just sent for 3 from Ward’s. They arrived and I put them in water. They are unfurling. But they smell terrible. Will the smell go away/ WHAT are the amical properties of the plant? should I plant it in a pot as another site says? PLEASE help me to know what to do. I put them in ceramic bowls to match fengshui colors needed in various parts of the house. I’m now regretting sending for them due to the smell!

why did you stop in 2008; I hope no one died????

      • on August 17, 2011 at 10:40 pm Carolina González

        Stop what?

  2. on March 31, 2008 at 4:41 pm Carolina González

    Hi,
I have had several roses of Jericho in the past years and none of them smelled at all, I don’t know why that could happen – maybe they have not been properly stored and they are too old or developing fungus?
I guess you could plant them on a pot, but I don’t think that would change the smell of the plants. I’ve always used both crystal and ceramic bowls and worked fine for me.
I am sorry I can’t help you more – I think you should contact the shop. By the way, the fengshui colours for the bowls is a fantastic idea! I love fengshui too!

I am looking for a version of the Rose of Jericho Prayer, it begins with O Divine Rose of Jericho. Are you able to help?
    Thanks.

  4. on April 29, 2008 at 4:24 pm Carolina González

I am sorry but no, I can’t. I improvise all my prayers and actually I would not recommend using anybody’s prayers but yours. Words that come truly from our hearts are more divine than any prayer.

  5. on July 11, 2008 at 9:10 pm Skydin

They are supposed to smell refreshing and kind of minty in a way… effervescent sort of.

It’s not supposed 2 smell, that usually happens if you leave it in water too long. I found out that one way of preventing it from turning black and icky is to keep it alive for one week, then let it be dry for one week, then alive one week etc etc, this really works. The plant in this pic turned black, and also looks upside down…

If u got them and the 1st time they unfurled they were black and/or smelly you should return them, because this probably means that someone had them before you and let them get fungusy…

Everytime I get rose of jerichos they always begin green, even with my efforts, 50% of the time eventually they turn darker…. then i just let them dry n I’m not sure what to do with them, but I’m pretty sure there’s a way 2 keep it green forever, the key is not letting the water do that 2 it…

I’m going to order 6 from one seller and 6 from another to see if there’s a difference in quality. Also I have a question for anyone:

Does anyone know where to get Anastatica hierochuntica? (the Sahara dessert version) There’s two versions of the rose of jericho… And I’m thinking we’ve all been getting the American one… if you know e-mail me at thefuturesky@aol.com

p.s. anyone ever have flowers grow from their plant? I heard it can have flowers… I’ve had about 15 of these and never saw them… maybe that’s the North African version….

  6. on July 25, 2008 at 12:18 pm Iyanla

Thanks for your response. As far as the plant smelling or becoming moldy, I find that doesn’t occur if I use purified water.

Another question: can I begin my ritual any day of the week as long as I change the water on Sunday or must I wait until Sunday to begin?
    Thanks.

  7. on July 25, 2008 at 12:23 pm Carolina González

Yes you can start any day, but I think you shoud choose acording to what you want to achieve from your jericho rose.

Monday or Wednesday would be best for business, Friday for love, Tuesday and Thursday for protection, Saturday for spell-breaking and Sunday for fame/recognition.

  8. on July 25, 2008 at 12:24 pm Iyanla

I would like to talk about dolls. I see magic dolls sold, and a variety of comments. someone ordered these help dolls and commented that their life was a mess from the time she received the dolls. I used 2 as a screen saver, and situations became horrrible! Must I bless my doll and how? Where must I keep my doll?

  9. on July 25, 2008 at 12:27 pm Carolina González

Iyanla, these questions you make about dolls are too complex to answer here :) – I will make a post soon about it, so everyone can use the information ok? Blessings.

  10. on July 25, 2008 at 1:46 pm Iyanla

    And abundance?

  11. on July 25, 2008 at 2:06 pm Carolina González

    Abundance=Business :).

  12. on July 25, 2008 at 2:11 pm Iyanla

Yes, thanks about the dolls note.

  13. on July 27, 2008 at 3:01 am Romayne

Iyanla, maybe this is the prayer that you are looking for:

“Divine Rose of Jerico: For the blessings received from our Lord Jesus Christ, for the virtues that you hold and the power considered, help me overcome the difficulties of life, give me health, strength, happiness, comfort and peace in my home, success in business, talent at work, to earn money to cover the necessities for my home and family.
Divine Rose of Jerico: All this I ask for the virtues you hold in love to Jesus Christ and his divine mercy. Amen”

  14. on July 28, 2008 at 2:02 pm Iyanla

Romayne, Yes it is. It came with the Rose. Thank you very much.

  15. on July 28, 2008 at 2:04 pm Iyanla

Good morning, all – I send to you feelings of peace, prosperity, and blessings.

Sistar Carolina (may I call you this?) : for several reasons including safety and privacy, I wish to use tealight [white] candles. Is this acceptable?

  16. on July 28, 2008 at 2:06 pm Carolina González

Iyanla, of course you can call me Sistar :) – yes, white tealight candles are perfect. I use them a lot actually, in every colour!

  17. on July 28, 2008 at 2:08 pm Iyanla

You are s-o-o loved! must i remove the metal?

  18. on July 28, 2008 at 2:10 pm Iyanla

p.s. I’m anxiously awaiting the dolls.
also, according to an astral(?) reading i received a few years back i was born under a witches moon. i would like to read up on, or understand that influence.

i keep delving and diving into different things – religious, non religious, and i want to focus on my true talent.

    thank you, be blessed.

  19. on July 28, 2008 at 2:11 pm Carolina González

I have never done it and it shouldn’t interfere at all in the ritual – in the end, metals are like extra “batteries” for any ritual.

  20. on July 28, 2008 at 2:13 pm Carolina González

I’ll add it to my requested post list :) – you’ll have to wait a little as my working like a madwoman on a new line of items fr the shop, but don’t worry, I’m not forgetting it!

By an astral reading you mean an astrology natal chart?

  21. on July 29, 2008 at 3:05 pm Iyanla

    Yes, astrology natal chart.

  22. on July 29, 2008 at 3:41 pm Iyanla

You know, I just realized you provide products! Talk about blinders. Anyway, can you recommend a good “manual,” so to speak?
I am all excited about placing an order!

  23. on July 29, 2008 at 8:26 pm Carolina González

:) Yes, you can find my shop at http://magickshop.etsy.com/ – I am more than glad to have you as a customer!!!

A good Witchcraft manual? I wish learning Witchcraft was so easy LOL! Actually I have an article in the making about it, since I get that question asked a lot!

Anyway, that depends a lot on what type of Witchcraft you’re interested in, but it won’t harm you to read anything written by Robert Graves, Carlos Castaneda, Raymond Buckland, Ray Malborough, Alejandro Jodorowski, and so many others… the true knowledge of Witchcraft comes from many sources, not only witchcraft/occult books.

Greetings; My intent is only good; and to influence my environment for the good. I truly believe that you reap what you sow; the universe always rights itself; and do unto others…
I own “The Enchanted Candle”, “Simple Spells for Success”, and “Handbook of Incense, Oils, and Candles”. Are they keepers?
    Pleace.

  25. on July 30, 2008 at 1:14 pm Carolina González

All books are keepers, of any type :) .

  26. on August 3, 2008 at 8:01 pm Iyanla

Sister Carolina – my rose has grown fuzzy mold. I did not have pure water. Reading the past notes, must I throw her away and get a new one or can I clean up my rose with vinegar or just begin again, using purified water?

    :(

  27. on August 3, 2008 at 8:06 pm Carolina González

Fuzzy mold is very common and first of all it doesn’t affect the energy of the plant. You can first try cleaning it under the tap, letting it dry and “resurrecting” it again, and use less water from now on. This plant needs very little water once it has opened. You can always buy another, but sooner or later fuzzy mold will be back :).

You don’t need to make the ritual again EVER, as long as there is a plant, wet or dry, in your house. If you want to change it, wait until you bring the next one to throw away the first.

  28. on August 3, 2008 at 8:08 pm Iyanla

thanks! i was bagging her up and tossing her! goodness!

  29. on August 31, 2008 at 12:41 am Izabella

In conjunction with the Rose of Jericho plant, does the plant have more than one Guardian Angel in it at one time or is it Angel to one plant? Another question: what do you mean that one can use the color of a bowl to get more specific results? your help would be greatly appreciated thank you.

  30. on August 31, 2008 at 1:48 pm Carolina González

First Question: both possibilities. A plant can have more than one Guardian, though it’s not common.
Second Question: chromotherapy gives different healing properties to colour infused through glass – and in magick colours are associated with different actions. Too long to explain here sorry!

  31. on September 25, 2008 at 9:22 pm Iyanla

Hello – Is it OK to place my Rose of Jericho in my bedroom?

  32. on September 25, 2008 at 9:31 pm Carolina González

Yes Iyanla, anywhere you please :).

  33. on September 30, 2008 at 10:17 pm magdalena

    Hi Carolina,
I am so happy I found you on the net. I surely will visit your website. I have one question: Do I need to dry the rose every other week(no water) or do I have to dry the rose with a towel?

  34. on October 1, 2008 at 8:50 am Carolina González

You don’t need to dry the rose ever if you don’t want to, but if you want to do it, just take off all water and let it air-dry for a few days, until it rolls back to a ball shape.

  35. on October 12, 2008 at 10:04 pm Chastity

I’m getting a bad feeling recently. I don’t know what is happening. My kitchen bin is keep going upside down, and the lights in the toilet are going on and off. I thought the kids are playing a joke on me. But actually they didn’t do it. I have done a littel blessing with some myrrh scent but the bad spirits are still in the kitchen. Can the rose of jericho take away all the evil spells and restore my bin and toilets to spiritual health?

  36. on October 12, 2008 at 10:11 pm Carolina González

Sincerely, the info you are giving is to little to make a diagnosis, AND you are assuming that the spirits in your house are negative, which doesn’t have to be necessarily like that.
Anyway, my advise is that you find someone you trust to visit your house and make a study to know what the spirits want and how to fight it. The rose of jericho is a good protection, but if there are spirits in the house, the rose won’t take them away.
I am sorry but I am not offering either consultation or spell services at the moment.

  37. on December 28, 2008 at 8:41 pm Cosmic

    Peace & Blessings!

Hello, I am a male discovering his universal origin. I was giving, or should I say, chosen by a Rose of Jericho, from a Sister of Light.

What month does the Rose of Jericho give offsprings?

How do you plant the seedlings: month, climate, and conditions?

What does eating her falling stems do “for” and “to” your body? Is it advisable?

Does the size of your Rose of Jericho dtermines its power or effectiveness?

Will my Rose of Jericho enjoy plant food or Miracle Growth?

What does the Rose of Jericho and crystals have in common?

I know my questions are numerous-forgive me. I was in awe and blessed to come into contact with your website, and a woman of your caliber.

I have been so blessed from my Rose of Jericho (her) I would like for others to feel her love and healing, with all that she has to offer.

I thank Mother Universe for you Ms. Gonzalez!
    Peace & Blessings!!

  38. on December 29, 2008 at 11:00 am Carolina González

    Hi Cosmic,
The Rose of Jericho is not planted, just put in shallow water, and none of the ones I’ve had has grown seedlings so I can’t tell you much about that.

I don’t think you should eat the plant!

No, size does not matter (LOL)

Rose of Jericho and crystals? they can work together. Crystals and plants get on well on magick work.

As I said in the previous answer, I am NOT offering consultation service at this moment. Please be respectful and don’t treat me like a library – if you want knowledge, study and experiment. I have done my Path alone, and so can you.

  39. on February 10, 2009 at 2:38 pm wiccanPrincess

I have a Rose of Jericho and the lady never told me to do anything but add water and take the water and sprinkle in four corners. I would have loved to have bonded with mine. I have it for about 5 days . I wasn’t sure if after nine days what should i do with it keep it or burn it. I didn’t no you water it and can add water to it on Sundays. I feel like mine is die what can i do to help it?

    • on February 10, 2009 at 5:07 pm Carolina González

Just let it dry for a week and “ressurect” it.

  40. on February 11, 2009 at 3:47 pm Lucy

Hi Carolina, I read some where, you have to put 3 pinches of sea salt to the water before you,put the rose in. Is that correct? Lucy

    • on February 12, 2009 at 12:39 am Carolina González

I had never heard that, and probably if you do it you’ll kill the plant.

  41. on February 17, 2009 at 11:24 pm Visions

    Pease,

I just recently discovered the power and serenity of the Rose of Jericho. I was told to place the rose in water for three days at a certain time and remove the rose from the water the same time in which it was placed in the water. I am to then sprinkle the water in the four corners of my home and at the front door. I was also informed to add some of the water to my bath..

Is it okay to consume a drop or two internally?

    • on February 18, 2009 at 12:08 am Carolina González

      I wouldn’t recommend it EVER.

  42. on February 25, 2009 at 7:42 pm Lucy

Hello Carolina ,I hope everything well with you. I have a question . I heard of a ritual you take an egg,its suppose to take away negativity ,you walk all 4 corners of your home. When you are finish you crack the egg the yolk turn black. Have you ever heard this? curious. thank you… Lucy

    • on February 25, 2009 at 8:51 pm Carolina González

      Hi Lucy,
Yes I know about that ritual. It is a very common ritual of shamanic origin used in Latin America made to clean houses and people – but believe, the yolk NEVER EVER turns black. It is beyond ridiculous to believe that something like that can happen – and believe me, I have seen quite a few unexplainable things, but never of that kind. That is just superstition and I am completely against any form of it. Real magic has nothing to do with that.

The egg represents the recipient of the negative energies on the house or person. If you want to do it, go from the farthest part of the house on to the door – and if you want to “clean” a person, do it from head to toes. As soon as you have finished, take the egg OUT of the house and break it.

  43. on May 21, 2009 at 7:46 pm Koko

Hello Carolina, I hope all is well.. I was told with my Rose of Jericho to put it in water in a big bowl, sprinkled this gold like glitter around it, put in 7 pennies and put whatever I wish for or whatever I wanted the Rose to bless me with write it on a piece of paper from a brown paper bag.. put it inside the rose and put a small amount of honey within the rose.. pray among the Rose.. is this true.. it’s very different version from what you are saying besides the coins. Please advise.. Thank you

    • on May 21, 2009 at 7:54 pm Carolina González

If it works, it is true! Magick is all about experimenting, and the same result can be achieved with many different spells. Try and analyze the results.

  44. on June 17, 2009 at 8:00 am smokeydragonlady

Blessings, I had a friend give me water from her jericho plant and I was wonder how to use it?
    Love and light.

    • on June 17, 2009 at 10:26 am Carolina González

As I said in the article, I don\’t use the water as it absorbs negativity.

  45. on June 25, 2009 at 3:11 am Nina (9ah)

Could you suggest where to purchase the rose of jericho?

    • on June 25, 2009 at 10:11 am Carolina González

I’m sorry, but I don’t know any online providers. I’m sure you could find it on ebay :).

  46. on August 3, 2009 at 7:57 pm belinda

Should the rose of jericho be completely submerged in water or just the root? Also, can it stay in water forever or does it need to dry occassionally? Can one buy it for self or should it be a gift?

    • on August 3, 2009 at 8:10 pm Carolina González

Quesion 1: Just a couple of inches of water.
Question 2: That’s up to you. I do dry it from time to time to prevent mold, but it’s not really important.
Question 3: for yourself or as a gift, as you prefer.

      Thanks for your interest Belinda

  47. on August 23, 2009 at 12:52 am Barbara

    Hi Sister,
I am not a witch but I appreciate the spirit realm completely. My daughter brought the rose for me she has several in her home near the entranceway. I have placed mine in a crystal bowl in the living room beside my mom’s ashes. I knew nothing nor was I told any ritual or prayer to do upon receiving it. and after the first day I noticed a smell and changed the water. I have my rose completely submerged in water and only found your website when I googled the name as I could not find it listed in a standard dictionary. I wanted to know what properties it derived from and stored but your site was much more than I expected but I totally agreed with you that each individual needs to have their own prayer. Peace.

    • on August 23, 2009 at 3:48 pm Carolina González

      Thanks Barbara!

I found the Rose of Jericho Prayer. I adore it, and I adore your site.

    Thanks Sarah

I have a Question. My Mother has a Rose of Jericho and my children and my husbend had never touched the plant. To day was the first time. My mother sits with it every day and looks at it. With in a hour of them touching it my mother went by the plant and notice thst there were red spots in different parts of the plant. it is so red it looks like its bleeding. what does that mean?

    • on September 28, 2009 at 9:14 am Carolina González

You shouldn’t worry – it is most likely mold. There are red and yellow molds that affect this plant.

  50. on January 17, 2010 at 11:09 pm Connie

Thank you for your website Carolina. It helped me with quistions that were inside my head about the Rose of Jerico.
I have misplaced my prayer but I will use the one mentioned and do use my own words too.
    Many light blessings in 2010

  51. on February 17, 2010 at 9:33 am Alchemist1111

    peace sisster,

I am an alchemist, I had gone on a quest to find a REAL Rose Of Jericho but I had no luck, I am ordering one from a supplyer on thursday but I had a few questions. You said that you dry yours occasionaly, how often is that? how long have you managed to raise a Rose Of Jericho before it died and how did you manage that. Does it have any Alchemist principals? when I dry the plant and it forms its ball again can I keep it as long as I want or will it eventualy lose its life force? You see I am afraid of loosing my Rose. I have an alchemist ritual that I want to do on it but I dont know if it would interfear with the guardians of the Rose and if it dosn’t would it be possibe for me to aquire its guardian ship?

    thank you
    11:11

    • on February 17, 2010 at 9:39 am Carolina González

I dry my rose about twice a year, in no particular time, just when I feel it needs it. I have had a plant for three years alive without any problems, I’m sure it could live longer. If you keep it dry too long, yes, it will lose its life force.

About the alchemic rituals – this would be too long to be answered here. Sorry, but I am not here to be a free teacher.

  52. on April 30, 2010 at 5:35 pm FIZUS

I got introduced to my rose two years ago , it has allow me to live a very bless life, with positive vibes .I love my rose I would recommend it to any one in need .

  53. on June 20, 2010 at 8:19 am Lushious

What happens when you don’t change the water every Sunday? I hate changing my water. I feel highly drained mentally physically.emotionally ect when I throw the water away every Sunday why is this? can anyone answer this that is familiar with this plant.

    • on June 20, 2010 at 9:10 am Carolina González

The water collects the negative energies, but if you don’t feel well doing it, then you shouldn’t. I had never heard of such a reaction but in magickal terms, anything can happen.

Thank you so very much for this info! I have had my Rose, who I named simply Rosie, for over a year now. I bonded with mine by washing her under warm tap water and talking to her just as I do when I bond with all my new plants. I welcome them to my home and assure them that they are in a safe place with lots of love and a promis that I will always take care of them. Then I placed her in a clear crystal shallow bowl next to my kitchen sink where she greets everyone as they wash away negetivity from their hands. She has been such a blessing to get to know and I was wondering if what I did counted as a ritual. I am a witch that has much respect for all the spirits of my plants and want to do right by them. Should I ever give her plant food in her water? I use liquid houseplant food from miracle gro every 3 weeks as an offering to my plants since I feel they appreciate this more so as an offering. Do you think this is okay and a good offering?

Christie, I am sure that your plants’ magick is wide awake! I have the same love for my plants :).

Hello and thank you for all the information that you provide. I wanted to say that for some reason, as I held the bowl which I have Rosie, my rose of jericho in, I put my ear to the plant and I heard it crackling. Does that mean anything?

Have never heard of anything like it!

” Many times I’ve read you can use the water of the plant to clean floors as an energy cleaner, but I disagree. The negativity that the plant absorbs is deposited in the water. I wouldn’t clean my house with a water that has been absorbing harming energies for a week.”

Here where I am from, there is a long standing history of using the water for cleansing and even for anointing one’s forehead. I feel that you are misinformed, or interjecting your personal opinion too much.

The plant pictured is not the Middle Eastern Desert “Rose of Jerico”, but is instead one of American desert origin.

Thanks for sharing your opinion. I am quite certain my supplier brings the roses from Africa, which is much cheaper for us that bringing them from America, considering the Canary Islands are only a few miles away from the north African coast.

Opinions are one thing, but facts are another. I know for a fact that that plant in your picture is Selaginella lepidophylla, the “False” Rose of Jericho, from North American deserts. The plant you are thinking it is, from African deserts, is Anastatica hierochuntica, called Rose of Jericho. That’s what is.

With that said, the plant in your picture, Selaginella Lepidophylla, has nothing in it’s traditional uses that say anything about it “absorbing negativity.”

Sorry to call foul on your blog, but you have your facts mixed up.

My Mother used to have a Rose of Jericho plant when I was younger and she kept money and would give money back to the community. She kept it on top of the refrigerator in a nice shallow bowl until it got bigger as it opened up. I don’t know if she ever introduced herself to the Rose but will have to ask her. I know she used to sprinkle other things in it but not certain what it was. The plant never had any odor and I know she didn’t sprinkle the water from it around the house. On holidays, she would put the bowl in the cupboard to keep family/friends from gawking at it and placing their negative energy thoughts on it. I am going to get me one and ask my Mother what did she sprinkle in it back then. Kind regards.

Hello! I have resurrected my Rose of Jericho, Rosie, and she opened up nicely but is kinda brown and green…but mainly dark brown…is that ok?? Also, my 3 yr old twin daughter & son LOVE Rosie and talks to her often..my daughter is so sensitive to Rosie…I put 2 silver coins in the water…is that ok? I do wash Rosie when I feel to and I do pray my own personal prayer….I truly need financial assistance. I have 4 kids I am raising…is there anything else I should do? Also I wanted to know if everything I am doing is ok and if it is ok for my kids to touch Rosie.

Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge and insight!!!

Everything you are doing is fine. The darker colour is normal on older plants, consider changing it for a newer one. It’s no porblem at all for your kids to touch it or speak to it. For financial assistant, light green candles anointed with a good Money/Job oil beside the Rose.

      Thanks Kathy!

    Hi Carolina-
Does Rose of Jericho help in Love, to have a husband return? IF so , what color candles, what color bowl? Does the prayer come with the plant? Do I have to be a witch to have the plant be effective? Please advise

    Thanks

    Lori

“Does Rose of Jericho help in Love, to have a husband return?”
I don’t think so. The rose is a plant of protection and prosperity.
“IF so , what color candles, what color bowl?”
If you still want to try, I’d say red of course.
“Does the prayer come with the plant?”
Some come boxed with the prayer and some don’t, depends on where you buy it.
“Do I have to be a witch to have the plant be effective?”
      No, but it helps!

I had a few of those roses and gave them away as a present. I still have one and ‘resurrected’ it a few days ago after a 2 year period. It still go’s green, but a few tips are not straitening and seem dead (grey-isch colour). What should i do? Do I prune the tips off? Does it grow back? How do you actually take care of it, since it isn’t mentioned anywhere?

    Hi Rob,

“a few tips are not straitening and seem dead (grey-isch colour). What should i do? Do I prune the tips off?”
The grey colour is normal in older and resurrected plants. I have never pruned mine, so I can’t tell you if they grow back.
“How do you actually take care of it, since it isn’t mentioned anywhere?”
You just keep it near a source of light, and immerse in an inch of water, that is all.
