First in a new series of prints inspired by my obsession with sideshow victorian circus
. Black inks on fine arts paper, digitally aged but completely hand drawn.
The hand of glory was a witchcraft tool made with the severed hand of a hanged criminal and covered in wax to act as a five-point candle. Whoever owned was believed to be invisible, so it was looked for stealing and/or entering guarded places, but ended up suffering a terrible destiny, very much like in the “monkey paw” legend.
