First of all, you don’t become a Witch. You ARE a Witch, whether if you are in the beginning of your learning or not. Though there is a start for everyone, there is no finish line for any of us, as Witchcraft is a process of constant learning and improvement.
BE PATIENT, HUMBLE AND DOWN TO EARTH AND WORK HARD. This is not a hobby, this is not for your free time, this is not an instant success thing. The growth of your abilities depends ONLY on your level of commitment and sacrifice. The more you give to it, the more you will grow.
Don’t be afraid about the length of the path, or the time it will take achieving it, because time does not exist and the path is endless for us all. Some will have made a longer distance, but many are still blind to the truth you have already discovered, and that you can’t deny any more.
The truth is that one of the most important things for a Witch is learning to LISTEN. Listen with the soul I mean exactly. That takes years of practise, meditation and personal growth. Once you have learnt it, the inner energy of things and people will tell you exactly what to do to help. Also, your spirit guides will tell you. Knowing them and communicating with your guardians is another long run that may take, again, years to take a proper shape and use.
On Witchcraft, as it happens with Art too, you start doing it the way others do it, and repeat endlessly until one day, without knowing why or how, your true essence comes up, and that moment of connectedness is like nothing you’ve ever felt before. It’s perfection.
Oh, and help yourself! You wouldn’t believe how often we forget we have this knowledge in our own benefit. There is nothing wrong is making magick for yourself, as long as you don’t bind nobody’s will, take anything that already belongs to other and of course cause harm to another with your wishes. If your intention is focused and your wish is fair, your spells will work.
My last recommendation is LEAVE THE CLOSET. Witchcraft is the oldest religion in human history and there is no reason to hide your affiliation. Do you know a Christian, a Buddhist or a Muslim that hide their beliefs? Then why should you? If people don’t understand, that is their problem, but it’s OUR duty to speak in the name of Witchcraft, letting it be known and talking about it with honour and knowledge. Being a Witch is something you should be proud of!
