The first Halloween item on The Hoodoo Shop this year is this beautiful set of three pages made by me in Photoshop CS, on the topic of Samhain, featuring skulls, amanita muscaria mushrooms and flying witches :). One chapter page in magenta/purple tones and two journal pages, one in rusty red and one in swampy [...]

Horned God Drawing, WIP, Day 2
Posted in Everyday Life, Paintings on August 31, 2009 | 9 Comments »
Slow, slow it goes…once the whole page is filled (I want to make it really full and baroque), the colour shading will start, both with colour pencils and acrylic washes. Then the inking will start – another long and careful process. I have never counted the hours a drawing takes, but my estimation for this [...]

I’m working on this drawing for my husband – a horned god with wolf totem elements and a drum (lower left). It’s a big drawing (A3 – 32,5 x 46 cms), and working with colour pencils requires an extremely careful and slow work. It will be finished in a couple of years LOL…

More embroidered sachets made yesterday – the flowers this time are fennel, mint and rosemary. I made another one that I’m not showing as I’m keeping it a surprise for a blog giveaway that we will be making soon as we’re about to hit 50.000 visits (WOW -I’m so thankful!). I have made small square [...]

Learning And Creating Witchcraft

One of the questions I get asked more often is How did you learn? I have to say that 90% of my knowledge has come from reading books (online and offline) and the 10% that’s left was passed to me by practitioners of many different faiths. I’m a very inquisitive person, so I’m never afraid [...]
People With No Souls

Yesterday I had to attend several Tarot readings for local customers at the Tea Bar. It was a strange evening. Though two readings were very good and I’m sure that I will see those customers again as the connection was deep and clear, for a moment I had the feeling that the zombies had risen [...]

This week I have received the Domestic Witch Blog Award TWICE. I’m so honoured! Both my dearests Wandering Soul and Forest Grove Botanica think this blog deserves a mention, so I’m passing the game to: Graveyard Dirt: I love this woman, the way she writes, and her sense of humour. Feels like a soul sister [...]

Oil lamps are are regular feature in santeria spells. This is the first prototype we have made of or own mechita (floating wick, also called “mariposas” – butterflies), as we have found that these items are no longer made by candle factories! They were very popular in the Islands during the hard years of strong [...]
