I have been a member of The Noble Pagan Forums since 2009, where I was invited to participate as an educator on African-origined religions. Due to the increasing work that House Of Eleggua meant I had to stop posting for a while, but now I finally have the time to resume my participation. The first educational post, a revised+extended edition of a blog post from 2011, has already been published this morning. More coming regularly!
Recipe For A Money Mojo Bag
Archive for March, 2012
The altar got a full makeover, and we finally gave Eleggua his tureen. The tureen is not an ornament, but a container of the Orisha’s power, that amplifies his energy. I would like to add that the gorgeous net-like curtain (which is actually a headdress) over the tureen was a gift from one of our patrons in Australia, and the tablecloth a gift from the always amazing Ms.Graveyard Dirt. I love adding such perfect gifts to the altar, as it reminds me everyday of how blessed we are to be surrounded by such exquisite souls.
As of today, I am a new contributor at Essence Holistic, where I will be posting monthly. Still awaiting for confirmation from the web mistress that I didn’t do anything wrong as this is my first post on a multi-author blog, but you can read the first post already! another good reason to visit this site is that the amazing Kallista Silverheart writes there too!
Sacred Heart Of Jesus Figurine – Handpainted And One Of A Kind
Unique, handpainted figurine of Obatala/Sacred Heart Of Jesus made of marble powder, painted with acrylics using miniature painting brushes, and inspired by the colourways of Bizantine and Romanesque art, sober and saturated at the same time, and so Mediterranean. In Santeria, Jesus of Nazareth is syncretized with Obatala/Oxala, king of all Orishas and protector of Humanity. Obatala represents wisdom, patience and endless faith. He is the highest and purest Orisha, and only exquisite items are offered to him.
The figure measures 17 cms/6,6 inches. I have added a piece of real suede beneath it to avoid the piece from scratching your altar. It is a One Of A Kind piece that took several days of work to complete.
Handpainted OOAK Holy Mother And Child Statue – SOLD
This unique piece has been made handpainting with the utmost detail a chalkware image of the Virgin of Mount Carmel. Her dark-tone skin was inspired both in the beautiful Canarian woman, tanned by the sun, and by the Black Madonnas that are so famous in Spain and that are closely tied in history with the Templar order. Please open all the pics to see the details!
Mary wears a blue tunic with gold stars and a purple cape in fading tones which compliments her dark skin. The Holy Child wears an aubergine dress with gold sun-like rays, a reminder of Jesus being considered a solar deity. They stand on a gold and black platform, the lower part painted to resemble a gemstone. The colour scheme was inspired in the colours used to represent Erzulie, the Vodou Lwa of love.
Reliquary Boxes – For Amulets, Spells And Curios
Each box on this series has been aged to a dark brown inside, and painted on coordinating solid colours on the outside. As the wood is almost paper thin, the boxes are really exquisite and perfect for the most delicate items in your magickal cupboard like insects, bones, snake skin, jewelry, gems, etc. Look at the measurements – these are really, really small!
Width: 2,7 x 3,7 cms / 1,1 x 1,4 inches.
Heigth: 1,9 cms / 0,7 inches.

Though we don’t celebrate the Sabbats anymore, the first day of Spring is always a good time to make a little offering. Here the weather is in full summer mode already, so our Spring comes strong, fragrant, sensual, vibrant. We made gofio balls with milk, rum, and honey, and gathered the best herbs from our roof garden. The bull horn, a gift from one of our patrons, was filled with beer and shared with the Spirits. Candles, incense, and some music, and a moment of power, of healing, of protection and abundance is created.
This multi-yarn pouch is inspired by the colours of Indian textiles, always a favourite for me. The tassels were made using the same yarns used for the bag, and adorned with pewter, glass and wood beads, and cowrie shells. Closes with an elastic loop, and since the bottom has been crocheted in the round, it is really more roomy than it may seem in the pics.
The strap is faux leather cord – we have left it very long for bigger sizes, but it can be easily adjusted to your size just by knotting the top. Please click on the pics to go to the listing.
Just a quick post to remind you that today is the last day to bid for the Salvia doll – please click HERE to read all details. We are sad to say that there have been no bids yet, so if no-one bids during the next 24 hours, we will put the doll for sale at our shop and donate half of the sale.
Crocheted and beaded bag for your runes, amulets, oracles, bones, or any witchy needs! Each one of these pieces is a unique item, made with a mixture of commercial and handspun wool and acrylic yarns. Its gourd-like shape makes them perfect to avoid items from falling off, and the satin ribbon makes the closure very soft and easy to open and close. One little secret – these bags are perfect to keep your oil bottles or small statues padded and safe when witching outside!
Purple Lotus – Altar Mat
Crocheted and beaded altar mat, created by modifying a crochet design from 1930. It is beaded only along the border, to keep most of the space free to place your sacred items. This is a One Of A Kind piece, made with acrylic yarn, so it’s perfectly washable and easy to take care of. The beads are Czech glass, in peacock and golden tones that really enhance the intense violet purple of the yarn. Diameter: 33 cms./12,8 inches.
